CONCEPT
The term “self-concept” is a term used in psychology as a means of identifying the thoughts and beliefs that a person has about themselves. To arrive to a self-concept, it takes time and life experience to find out who you are. It might seem like a selfish act, but by all means necessary as it is what we plan our lives around: our hopes, dreams, passions, goals.
In these 3 books, the main characters are all on different paths to finding themselves, the characters varying age. Everyone has a self-concept, and the process of discovering yourself is unique to everyone. All of the characters are in totally separate situations and environments, but they are all trying to make sense of life, and connect their own realities with their self-concept.
