Cannes Film
Festival
Films, movies and TV have the capability to transport us into a different fantasy world. The ability to transform reality through movies is the beauty of them. Filmmakers have the capability to take audiences out of their own reality, and consume them with a new fantasy world. As a society, we have become so attached to these characters in movies that many of us worship them in our own way. The Cannes Film Festival was founded in 1946, as a way to celebrate movies. Now, it is one of the most prestigious and sought-after invitation-only events.
Poster Series & Accordion Fold Brochure
My concept for this film festival series is to focus on the transformative ability of film, and explore different iconic landscapes and characters of film that let us escape from our own lives. The design language would be focused on the escapism and surrealism that movies provide, and how they can impact our imagination and everyday lives. The different “escapes” can be represented through vehicles, signifying the literal transportation to different places that the movies can take us to.
