The year is 1999. The year 2000 is creeping up, and the “millennium bug” is creating a worldwide scare. The bug, also known as the “Y2K Glitch,” refers to computer-related errors when distinguishing dates and times. The term Y2k eventually transitioned from meaning a technology “glitch” into describing the late 90’s into the mid-early 2000’s. Throughout the 2020 pandemic, "y2k" took on a completely different meaning; attributing the word to the fashion styles and pop culture of the late 90's to 2000's. This is how the Y2K aesthetic was reborn in 2020, which is why I think it would be a fitting trend to entice graphic designers, illustrators and art directors who are looking to buy paper between the ages of 25-40 who experienced Y2K.
